Bachelor's thesis: hybrid optimisation algorithm
This project aimed to improve the efficiency of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Nelder-Mead Simplex algorithms by developing a sequential hybrid optimization method. Implemented in VBA, the hybrid algorithm was benchmarked against standard test functions and structural optimization problems. Although the hybrid approach proved less efficient than PSO alone, the project provided valuable experience in algorithm development, benchmarking, and performance evaluation. Through this work, I developed strong skills in computational problem-solving, optimization techniques, algorithm implementation, and VBA programming.
